PARENT COMMENTS

My daughter attended Access School for 15 months and the improvements I saw in such a short amount of time were eye opening. The challenges she previously faced were too many. She had trouble reading and was not at grade level.  She did not understand what she read and holding a conversation was limited due to poor vocabulary.

Most of her challenges came from dyslexia but I couldn’t be more proud of the significant improvement she made in reading, comprehension and vocabulary, only in 15 months.

In as little as six months, I saw how her use more expressive vocabulary when she engaged in structured conversations with adults. Before, she would get frustrated, unable to articulate her thoughts, and gave up altogether.

Her degree of frustration was high but not anymore. I saw positive changes everyday when I drove her to school. Her communication skills were getting more and more sophisticated. Her school environment not only corrected her learning issues but I could hear the positive change in her choice of words, thoughts and in her thinking process.  Her reading also dramatically increased to the point of success. Asking her to read a book to me before bedtime was no longer daunting for her. She actually liked the idea.   Access School was the key. Reading, comprehension and critical thinking were critically improved. Equally was the boost to her self-confidence, when she realized her own improvements.

Initially she could not understand how the exercises and the school's approach would help her with her, but it did, in a big way. She was happy at Access and by the end of her program she didn’t want to leave the school, her friends or her teachers. The staff and leadership at Access is amazing. Everyone is professional, knowledgeable and service oriented, always available to discuss concerns at any time. Access was a true blessing and a joy.  I recommend it to al parents who see challenges ahead, especially when a child is not adapting well to any school due to learning difficulties.
